Insecurity Forces Relocation of Kwara Health Outreach from Oke Ode to Omupo
The Kwara State Government has shifted its 2025 Medical and Surgical Outreach Programme for Ifelodun Local Government Area from Oke Ode to Omupo, citing security concerns.
Health Commissioner, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, said in a statement on Sunday that the outreach would now take place on Tuesday, October 14, at the Cottage Hospital, Omupo.
She explained that the decision followed a review of the security situation in parts of the state and was also aimed at improving accessibility for more communities within the council area.
The exercise will feature free medical consultations, surgical procedures and other essential health services targeted at residents.
Dr. El-Imam urged residents of Ifelodun and neighbouring communities to seize the opportunity, reiterating the government’s commitment to protecting lives while expanding access to quality healthcare.
