Fintiri: PDP poised to reclaim power in 2027
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, yesterday declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been repositioned and is fully prepared to contest the 2027 general elections.
Speaking to reporters at the end of the party’s state congress in Yola, the governor said the PDP is undergoing a rebirth that will restore confidence among members and Nigerians at large.
> “We are trying to give birth to a new PDP where everyone will believe, trust and have confidence in. We are well-positioned and ready for 2027,” Fintiri said.
He described the congress as transparent and fair, noting that the massive turnout was a clear indication of the public’s confidence in the party.
The governor explained that the government and the party were working in synergy to deliver good governance and bring smiles to the faces of citizens. He assured that the newly elected state executives would steer the PDP’s affairs for the next four years.
“We know them and we have confidence in them. They have experience in party politics and we believe they will lead us well as we work towards 2027. By God’s will, we will get there and produce another good government, just as we have experienced in the last eight years,” he added.
Mrs. Golfa Mallim, an aspirant for the Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, also congratulated the new executives. She urged them to consolidate on the party’s gains and described the new chairman, Alhaji Hamza Madagali, as a “man of the people” whose leadership would strengthen the PDP.
“This is a memorable moment for us in the PDP. Alhaji Madagali has passion, love and dedication for the growth of the party at all levels. His leadership will guarantee a stronger PDP capable of reclaiming more political seats in 2027,” she said.
Mallim called for unity and reconciliation within the party, stressing that internal divisions could undermine its chances in the next polls.
The congress produced Alhaji Hamza Madagali as the new state chairman and Mr. Saleh Shelleng as secretary. They will lead the party for the next four years.
