Buni Inspects Flyover, Road Projects in Yobe
Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has inspected ongoing construction works in Damaturu, including the flyover and underpass project as well as the Damaturu–Gambir road.
The governor was accompanied on the visit by Deputy Governor Idi Barde Gubana, Commissioner for Works Umar Dudaye, Commissioner for Finance, and other government officials.
Buni said the projects would ease traffic congestion in the state capital and help address flooding along Gashua Road. He also noted that the Damaturu–Gambir road would improve access for farming communities to markets in the capital.
The Commissioner for Works said engineers were monitoring the projects to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
Contractors handling the flyover and underpass, Triacta Nigeria Limited, are expected to complete the work by January 2026. The road project contractor, Elegance Construction, assured delivery within nine weeks.
The flyover, valued at N22.3 billion, is part of the state government’s infrastructure programme, which also covers new roads, drainage systems, roundabout remodelling, and a modern motor park.
