Adeleke Urges Politicians to Embrace Unity Beyond Party Lines
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on political leaders across party lines to shun division and work collectively for the progress of the state.
The governor made the appeal on Saturday during the 2025 Olojo Festival in Ile-Ife. Represented by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, Adeleke stressed the need for politicians to set aside partisan differences in the interest of peace and development.
He commended the presence of leaders from various political backgrounds at the festival, describing it as a demonstration that unity is attainable when the welfare of the state is prioritised over individual ambitions.
Adeleke warned against allowing political rivalry to escalate into violence, urging leaders to focus on policies and initiatives that would benefit the people.
“Politicians have fought themselves long enough. It is time to work towards building harmony and fostering growth for our state,” he said.
The governor’s message comes at a time when Osun, like other states, grapples with partisan tension, making calls for unity and dialogue even more crucial.
