Tinubu’s Son-in-Law Reaffirms Presidential Support for Oyebanji’s Re-election Bid

Tinubu’s Son-in-Law Reaffirms Presidential Support for Oyebanji’s Re-election Bid

The political alliance between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji of Ekiti State was underscored on Friday when Honourable Oyetunji Ojo, Chairman of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) and son-in-law to the President, visited the Ekiti State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Addressing the State Executive Council, Ojo stated that President Tinubu “fully supports” Governor Oyebanji’s quest for a second term. He described the relationship between the Presidency and the Ekiti State Government as “cordial, smooth, and unwavering,” adding that the collaboration between the Federal and State Governments under the APC would continue to grow stronger in the coming years.

Ojo praised Governor Oyebanji as a “tested, trusted, and people-focused leader,” highlighting his accomplishments in infrastructure development, human capital investment, and inclusive governance. He further pledged to personally lead Oyebanji’s second-term campaign by touring all 16 local government areas of the state to canvass support.

The FHA Chairman also announced plans for a new Federal Housing Project in Ado-Ekiti, noting that Governor Oyebanji had provided land to facilitate the project, a development he described as another fruit of the strong Federal-State partnership.

Former APC state chairman, Chief Jide Awe, commended Ojo for his consistency in supporting the governor. Current party leaders, including State Chairman Hon. (Barr.) Olusola Elesin and General Secretary Hon. Sola Garba Arogundade, reaffirmed the party’s full backing for Ojo’s campaign efforts. Elesin, however, condemned aspirants seeking political positions outside the party structure, calling it a “disrespect to the APC hierarchy.”

Political observers say the visit has reinforced the APC’s base in Ekiti, reflecting both the Presidency’s and the public’s confidence in Governor Oyebanji ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
