Tinubu Vows to Tackle Poverty, Terrorism, and Crime Across Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu on Saturday reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting Nigerians from poverty, criminality, and terrorism, stressing that military action alone is insufficient to ensure national security.

Speaking during the passing-out parade of Cadets of 72 Regular Course, Short Service Course 48, and Direct Short Service in Kaduna, Tinubu, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, emphasized the need for holistic measures to address insecurity.

“While our armed forces and security agencies continue to play critical roles, no amount of kinetic effort can guarantee the safety of our people unless underlying drivers of insecurity—poverty, unemployment, poor innovation, and socio-economic disintegration—are tackled,” the President said.

Tinubu highlighted his administration’s focus on job creation, macroeconomic stability, investment-friendly policies, human capital development, and social security as part of a broader strategy. He noted that these initiatives are being implemented through the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he described as central to his 4D diplomacy doctrine—promoting democracy, driving economic development, nurturing Nigeria’s demographic potential, and engaging the diaspora community.

According to the President, these measures will collectively transform Nigeria into a safe and attractive destination for global investment.

“By addressing security, economic, and social challenges concurrently, we are laying the foundation for a society where citizens are empowered to combat poverty, criminality, and terrorism,” Tinubu added.
