Lagos Welcomes Tinubu as Independence Day Approaches
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Friday for a working visit to the former seat of government, as Nigeria prepares for a subdued celebration of its 65th Independence Anniversary.
The President’s visit comes after attending the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
While in Lagos, President Tinubu is scheduled to meet with senior government officials and key players in Nigeria’s private sector, focusing on strategies to boost economic growth and national development.
He will also visit Imo State on Tuesday, September 30, to commission projects executed under Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration.
As part of the Independence Day activities, the President will commission the remodelled National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said, “The President’s engagements in Lagos are aimed at strengthening ties with the private sector and ensuring that developmental projects are aligned with the nation’s growth objectives.”
