APGA Slams Indefinite Suspension on Abaribe over Anti-Party Acts
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State has slammed an indefinite suspension on Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South Senatorial District, over alleged anti-party activities.
The suspension, which took effect on Friday, September 26, followed resolutions reached by the State Executive Committee (SEC) at its meeting in Umuahia.
APGA accused Abaribe of gross misconduct, disregard for party directives and conduct said to have brought the party into disrepute.
In a letter signed by the State Secretary, Pastor Peter Nduka, the party said the lawmaker was given 24 hours to respond to the allegations but failed to provide a satisfactory defence.
The statement reads in part:
“Following the resolution of the State Executive Committee (SEC) of our party at its meeting of September 26, 2025, you are hereby suspended indefinitely from APGA with immediate effect for anti-party activities, an action which has exposed the party to public ridicule.
“Your suspension shall stand pending the hearing and determination of your case by a disciplinary committee to be constituted by the party.”
The party said it has duly notified relevant institutions, including security agencies and the general public, of the development.
