Niger Judiciary Axes Four Officers Over Failed Promotions
The Niger State Judicial Service Commission (NJSC) has dismissed four judicial officers after they failed promotion examinations three consecutive times.
Speaking at a press briefing in Minna, the NJSC Information Sub-committee Chairman, Adamu Usman, said three of the affected officers were from the High Court, while one was from the Sharia Court of Appeal. He explained that the commission acted in line with Order 8, Rule (4)(f) of the 2025 regulations.
Usman also revealed that a four-man panel has been set up to investigate allegations of misconduct against Mohammed Shaba, accused of circulating a derogatory video against the Chief Judge of Niger State. The matter, reported by the Chief Registrar of the Sharia Court of Appeal, will follow due process to ensure a fair hearing under Order 6(1)(c) of the 2025 regulations.
The NJSC emphasized its commitment to discipline and integrity within the state judiciary.
