Buni Strengthens Yobe Security with Fleet of Vehicles and Motorcycles
Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has strengthened the state’s security apparatus by presenting 47 four-wheel-drive vehicles and 50 motorcycles to security agencies and the 17 local government councils.
The presentation ceremony, held in Damaturu, saw Governor Buni urge security personnel to reciprocate the government’s gesture by redoubling their efforts to maintain peace and ensure public safety across the state.
The newly acquired vehicles include 21 four-wheel-drive units allocated to Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), while others were distributed to the State Police Command, Nigerian Army, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Correctional Service, and the local government councils. Meanwhile, the motorcycles were assigned to the DSS, Army, Airport Security, and local vigilante groups.
Governor Buni also directed local government chairmen to ensure the maintenance and fueling of the vehicles, emphasizing that logistical support is key to effective security operations.
He commended the dedication of security personnel, hunters, and vigilante groups for their role in maintaining peace, noting that the government remains committed to enhancing safety and fostering collaboration among all security agencies in Yobe State.
