Lagos Launches Executive Leadership Training for Civil Servants

 

 

Lagos State Government has inaugurated a two-day Executive Leadership Training Programme for civil servants as part of its efforts to strengthen human capacity and build a globally competitive public service.

 

The programme, held at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, is aimed at equipping public officers with modern skills necessary for effective governance. It is organised in collaboration with Rome Business School Nigeria, reflecting the state’s commitment to developing a workforce that is globally competent and locally impactful.

 

Speaking on the initiative, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Mr. Tolani Sule, described the training as a strategic investment in the future of Lagos. He emphasised that a dynamic and innovative civil service is crucial to the state’s progress.

 

The Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, urged participants to embrace the training and apply the lessons to improve service delivery across ministries, departments, and agencies. He described the programme as a bold step towards creating an efficient, forward-thinking, and globally competitive public service.

 

Mr. Olakunle Asunmo, General Manager of Rome Business School Nigeria, noted that the training provides hands-on experience designed to sharpen decision-making, enhance efficiency, and improve service delivery. Middle-level, management, and principal officers of the civil service attended the programme, underscoring Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application.he training is expected to foster a new generation of competent and effective public servants capable of driving meaningful change in Lagos State.
