Northern Christians hold prayers for Remi Tinubu at 65

The Christians Northern Nigeria Political Forum (CNNPF) yesterday held a special prayer session in honour of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she marked her 65th birthday.

The service, which took place at the Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, drew clerics, dignitaries and members of the forum, who extolled the First Lady as an inspiration to women and a pillar of support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Coinciding with the commemoration of World Peace Day, the gathering also sought divine intervention for peace and stability in Nigeria.

CNNPF National President, Comrade Muhammad Barau Garba, described Mrs Tinubu as a bridge-builder, particularly among Christians and Muslims in the North. He reminded Christians of the biblical injunction to pray continually for those in authority to lead in a God-fearing manner.

Board member of the forum, Arch. Prof. Emmanuel Jatau, who led the prayers, lauded the First Lady’s selfless service in both public and private spheres. He urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in prayers and contribute to the nation’s growth under the Tinubu administration.

“This gathering is strictly a prayer session in commemoration of Her Excellency’s birthday, not for political reasons. Let us continue to pray for our leaders, no matter their shortcomings, so that they can remain strong and focused to lead the people aright,” Jatau said.

Patron of the forum, Comrade Noah Emmanuel, also commended Mrs Tinubu for her support to the organisation. According to him, she has donated vehicles, thousands of bags of rice distributed across the 19 northern states, and funded several of the forum’s initiatives.

He urged Nigerians to support the Tinubu administration by providing timely information to security agencies on threats in their communities.
