Oke Ero Council Denies Alleged Query Letter, Constitutes Investigation Panel

The Oke Ero Local Government Area has refuted claims regarding a purported query letter allegedly issued on behalf of its Executive Chairman, Hon. James Abiodun Fadipe, describing the document as fraudulent and misleading.

In a statement signed by the Council Secretary, Hon. Femi Arekujaye, the council clarified that no such letter was issued to Nurse Rufus Favour Mojisola, who had earlier claimed she was humiliated, slapped, and made to kneel in the chairman’s office.

“It should be clearly stated that nobody forced the staff to kneel down, nor did anyone slap her. Also, no query letter was issued by the council to her,” the statement read.

The council further dismissed the document, noting it lacked an official reference number, date, or stamp, and contained language inconsistent with formal local government correspondence. “The query never originated from Oke Ero Local Government Council, so the public is advised to disregard the claim,” it added.

The council also announced that it had set up a committee of enquiry on September 11, 2025, to investigate the matter. Preliminary findings revealed that Nurse Mojisola had been absent from duty for over two months while attending a course without prior approval, and her appointment remains on a probationary basis.

Mrs. Ayinde Risikat, Officer-in-Charge of the health facility, has been summoned to present her account of the events to the panel.

While distancing itself from the “fake query,” the council condemned the dissemination of misinformation and attacks on its leadership. “It is regrettable that some individuals have resorted to spreading falsehoods and insulting the council due to their bias against the new administration,” the statement said.

The council reiterated its commitment to accountability, transparency, peace, and empowerment, warning that those found responsible for fabricating or spreading false information would be held legally accountable upon conclusion of the investigation.
