Wike Applauds Tinubu for Lifting Emergency Rule in Rivers
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for restoring democratic governance in Rivers State by lifting the emergency rule previously imposed.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike said the President’s decisive action demonstrates his unwavering commitment to peace and the consolidation of democracy in the country. He noted that the intervention has helped restore public confidence in leadership and governance in Rivers State.
Wike also urged all stakeholders in the state to collaborate harmoniously in the collective interest of the people, warning troublemakers and opportunists seeking to exploit the crisis to stay away. He emphasized that “from Rivers State going forward, the only news that will emanate will be that of peace, progress, and development.”
The minister further lauded the people of Rivers State for their steadfast belief in the President and continuous support for efforts to return the country to a path of growth and stability.
