Omisore’s Entry Won’t Divide Osun APC, Says Omowaiye
Former Osun State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Remi Omowaiye, has dismissed speculations that the entry of former deputy governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore, into the governorship race could destabilise the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Omowaiye, a chieftain of the party and close ally of Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, described the APC as “one indivisible family” ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
His comment followed social media claims that Omisore’s ambition had altered the calculations within the ruling party. A Facebook post by one Adesola Solarboy alleged that the APC ticket was already tilting toward a particular aspirant until Omisore joined the race, describing the development as a “game changer.”
But Omowaiye fired back, urging party members not to be distracted by what he called “social media rantings.”
“Nothing has changed. We remain one big family in Osun APC,” he wrote.
Omowaiye, now Executive Director of Projects Implementation at the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), is a strong backer of Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, who is also in the race for the APC ticket.
Party insiders say Omisore’s sudden move may unsettle some camps, but Omowaiye maintained that the APC structure in Osun remains firmly intact under Oyetola’s leadership.
