Kwara Relocates NYSC 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Camp to Ilorin

The Kwara State Government has approved the relocation of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation camp from its permanent site in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area, to the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.

Mr. Onifade Joshua, the State Coordinator of the scheme, said the move became necessary following security concerns raised by what he described as “perpetrators and enemies of progress.”

“This decision is necessary due to recent security challenges at the permanent orientation camp in Yikpata,” Onifade said, assuring prospective corps members and their parents of adequate security and the smooth conduct of the three-week exercise.

He added that armed soldiers and other security personnel would be deployed to safeguard the lives and welfare of participants. The coordinator also commended both the federal and state governments for their intervention and support, stressing that NYSC Kwara State is fully prepared to host the exercise.

Heads of various assignments have already commenced preparations to receive corps members, who are expected in camp from Wednesday, 24 September to Tuesday, 14 October 2025. About 1,800 corps members are expected to participate in the 21-day orientation program.

Onifade further noted that the relocation aims to reassure prospective corps members, many of whom are visiting the state for the first time. He praised Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s administration for prioritizing the welfare of corps members.

To assess the readiness of the new venue, the Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General O. O. Nafiu, has directed Mrs. Abiodun Oluwaremilekun, Director of the South West Area Office I, Osun State, to inspect and evaluate the temporary site.

The NYSC management also advised all corps members to have safe travels, avoid night travel, and use only designated motor parks for boarding vehicles.
