Benue Assembly Clears 10 More Advisers for Alia
The Benue State House of Assembly has approved Governor Hyacinth Alia’s request to appoint 10 additional Special Advisers.
The approval was granted on Thursday during plenary, giving the governor the go-ahead to further expand his advisory team.
Lawmakers explained that the decision was aimed at strengthening governance and equipping the administration with the needed expertise to deliver on its development agenda.
The governor, who recently unveiled a new round of appointments into strategic offices and statutory boards, is expected to announce the names of the new advisers in the coming days.
Political watchers say the move underscores Alia’s determination to consolidate his hold on the machinery of government as he pushes ahead with his reform programmes.
