Bago hails Tinubu over Babban Rami Bridge reconstruction

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for swiftly approving the reconstruction of the collapsed Babban Rami Bridge in Mashegu Local Government Area.

The governor gave the commendation yesterday when he visited the community to sympathise with residents over the recent flood that brought down the bridge linking several neighbouring towns.

Bago disclosed that the President had directed the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, to commence immediate reconstruction, adding that work had already begun.

He urged residents to cooperate with the contractors handling the project and cautioned against indiscriminate farming and building on waterways. According to him, the safety and well-being of the people remain top priority for his administration.

The governor also announced that the construction of the Kontagora–Babban Rami–Makera road would soon begin, assuring that his government was committed to improving infrastructure across the state.

Bago further praised the people of Mashegu for their role in his agricultural revolution and encouraged them to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming local government elections.

Also speaking, Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba, who represents Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu federal constituency, lauded both the federal and state governments for the swift intervention, urging residents to sustain their support for the administration to attract more projects.

The governor was accompanied on the inspection by Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Abubakar; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdullmalik Sarkin Daji, and other APC stalwarts.
