Osun PDP to Defectors: APC Now a Refuge for Spent Politicians

Osun State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Sunday Bisi, has ridiculed the defection of Senators Francis Fadahunsi (Osun East) and Olubiyi Fadeyi (Osun Central) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the opposition party as “a dumping ground for expired politicians.”

Bisi, who spoke in Osogbo, said the lawmakers abandoned the PDP without the support of any serious stakeholder, insisting that their defection was “a hollow move dressed as a political earthquake.”

“Power is from God and resides with the people. These senators were only riding on the back of our people’s goodwill. Today, they have sneaked away into the APC, but nobody followed them because they carry no weight,” he declared.

He challenged the defectors to stop hiding in Abuja and face their constituents at home.

“If you are truly men of influence, come to your constituencies and declare publicly. Do it in Ilesa, do it in Osogbo—let us see how many people will stand beside you. Abuja drama does not translate to grassroots support,” he taunted.

The PDP chairman mocked the APC for celebrating defections that add no value to its dwindling fortune in Osun.

“APC is now a rehabilitation centre for rejected politicians. The party is gasping for relevance, so it hugs anybody that strays its way, even if they bring nothing,” he said.

Bisi expressed confidence that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s record in office and his unbeaten political streak will crush APC in 2026.

“Adeleke has never lost an election, and his achievements since 2022 will bury APC at the polls. No propaganda can save them,” he added.
