Okpebholo forwards four commissioner-nominees to Edo Assembly
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has forwarded the names of four new commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Umar Musa Ikhilor, in a statement yesterday, listed the nominees as Dr. Jerry Uwangue, Dr. Kenneth Okoruwa Ihensekhien, Barr. Usenbo Paul Ehigie and Mr. Akhigbe Osi John Sunday.
With the latest list, the number of nominees and appointees into the State Executive Council has risen to 26.
One of the nominees, Dr. Kenneth Okoruwa Ihensekhien, is a former Minority Leader in the Edo State House of Assembly (1999–2003). He has also served as Commissioner for Youth & Sports, Energy & Water Resources, and Agriculture & Natural Resources, as well as Special Adviser on Project Monitoring. Between 2018 and 2020, he was Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor and Principal Private Secretary to the APC National Chairman.
So far, nine commissioners have been sworn in, while eight others confirmed by the Assembly are awaiting inauguration.
