Tinubu Cuts Short Vacation, Set to Resume Duties in Abuja Tomorrow
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ended his annual vacation ahead of schedule and is set to return to the nation’s capital on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties.
The President left for France on September 4 to spend part of his annual leave, initially planning to split the holiday between France and the United Kingdom. Sources say he decided to return earlier than planned to attend to pressing matters at home.
During his stay in Paris, President Tinubu held a private luncheon with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. The two leaders reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation and discussed strategies to deepen Nigeria-France relations for mutual prosperity and global stability.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the early return in a statement on Monday.
President Tinubu’s return comes as the government seeks to accelerate key national projects and engage with international partners on economic and security matters.
