Adeleke Reviews Policies, Issues Fresh Directives at Osun Exco

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on Friday presided over a marathon State Executive Council meeting where key policies were reviewed and new directives handed down to ministries and agencies.

The meeting, which lasted late into the night, assessed progress across sectors, with the governor expressing satisfaction at the administration’s high performance rating and wide acceptance among residents.

“We must congratulate ourselves on the series of endorsements from various groups in the state. Our government is rated very high by all categories of Osun people,” Adeleke told cabinet members.

He urged the Ministry of Works to fast-track infrastructure projects including the Ilesa dualisation, Ile-Ife flyover, Oke Fia/Lameco flyovers and the Iwo dualisation. The governor also tasked the Energy Ministry to draw up an implementation plan for the recently passed State Electricity Market law in consultation with the national regulator.

Other directives covered agriculture, innovation, sports and local government administration. Adeleke called for the immediate rollout of the Statewide Youth Agropreneurship project, a roadmap on artificial intelligence and blockchain applications, and urgent work on bills for the Osun Sports Commission and Sports Development Fund.

He further urged local government chairmen to prepare development agendas aligned with the state’s plan and ordered close monitoring of the Imole Youth Corps scheme.

Council also approved the elevation of minor chiefs, including the appointment of Prince Adeleke Saheed Adeyemi as Olokusa of Okusa in Egbedore Local Government, and set up a committee to tackle manpower gaps in the health and education sectors.
