Apapa Customs Sets Record with N20.1bn Revenue in Just One Day

Barely 24 hours after assuming office as the Customs Area Controller of the Apapa Port Command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba has set a new benchmark for revenue collection. On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the command recorded ₦20,156,077,098.56, the highest daily revenue ever achieved by any Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) command under the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), popularly known as B’Odogwu.

The record surpasses the previous peak of ₦18 billion and underscores Oshoba’s commitment to exceeding revenue targets, a pledge he made during his maiden address on Monday.

Upon resuming duty, Oshoba held a meeting with senior officers, commending their past achievements while urging them to maintain high levels of productivity. He emphasized that true success is measured by tangible results, dedication, and integrity.

Commenting on the milestone, Oshoba described it as the beginning of greater accomplishments. “I commend my team and stakeholders for this milestone of ₦20.1 billion in just one day. But this is not the time to celebrate. Clapping means removing your hands from work. Let us reserve celebration for the future, when we surpass targets, curb smuggling, and facilitate trade efficiently without compromising integrity,” he said.

He further noted that the deployment of B’Odogwu is central to modernising customs operations and strengthening Nigeria’s position as Africa’s largest economy through efficient trade facilitation. Oshoba called on officers to sustain the momentum and urged stakeholders to remain compliant, stressing that their collective efforts are positively impacting the nation’s economy.
