Southern Kaduna Senator Condemns Deadly Bandit Attacks
Senator Sunday Marshall Katung of Southern Kaduna has condemned the recent spate of attacks in several communities across the region.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the senator recalled that on August 25, bandits struck Angwan Rimi, Kamar in the Chawai chiefdom of Kajuru Local Government Area, leaving seven people dead and several others injured.
He added that another attack occurred in Wakeh, Agunu District of Kachia Local Government, where eight people were killed, and houses and properties in Wakeh and Gadanaji communities were set ablaze.
“Bandits again on Sunday evening attacked U/Kaniko, Mile 1 in Kanikon Chiefdom of Jema’a Local Government, killing Musa Shock, a hardworking youth,” Katung said.
The senator extended his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured. He described the attacks as “heartbreaking and very painful,” stressing that targeting innocent civilians has no place in a civilized society.
Katung called on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect lives and property across the country.
