Oyo APC Rallies Behind Lawmaker Over N300bn Loan, Warns Governor

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday staged a peaceful protest in Ibadan in support of its lawmaker, Ibraheem Shittu, over alleged victimisation following his opposition to a N300 billion loan approved for Governor Seyi Makinde.

The rally, which began at the APC secretariat in Oke Ado, was attended by party chairman Alhaji Olayide Abas and other members. Shittu, who represents Saki West constituency, raised concerns about the state’s mounting debt, prompting alleged threats against him.

Addressing journalists, Alhaji Abas stated, “We are here to back Shittu for his bold stand against the loan. Oyo State should not be turned into a perpetual loan collector. We demand that he not be victimised. The process to reclaim Oyo State has begun.”
