Kwara Governor Approves 2024 Cash Backing for 3,594 TESCOM Staff
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has approved the 2024 cash backing for 3,594 teaching and non-teaching staff of the State’s Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), the Executive Chairman of the commission, Mallam Bello Tauheed Abubakar, has announced.
Speaking on Monday at the TESCOM headquarters in Ilorin, Bello described the approval as a reflection of the governor’s commitment to improving teachers’ welfare across the state.
He recalled that since taking office in 2019, Governor AbdulRazaq had ensured that promotions for the years 2015, 2016, and 2017 were cash backed, and consistently maintained that practice for promotions between 2018 and 2023.
Bello assured staff that the administration would continue to guarantee prompt cash backing for all future promotions. He commended the governor’s sustained investment in the teaching profession and pledged the commission’s dedication to supporting the government’s educational agenda.
The approval is expected to boost morale among TESCOM staff and reinforce the state government’s commitment to enhancing teachers’ welfare, a move seen as crucial to improving the overall quality of education in Kwara State.
