Kwara Fixes ₦8.5m for Hajj 2026, Governor Approves ₦5m Initial Deposit

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the commencement of sales of forms and payments for the 2026 Hajj, pegging the total cost at eight point five million naira (₦8.5m) per pilgrim.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji AbdulSalam Abdulkadir, said the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has allocated 3,762 slots to the state.

Alhaji Abdulkadir outlined the requirements for intending pilgrims, emphasizing the need for a valid international passport and the completion of all registration processes before the deadline.

He revealed that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved an initial deposit of ₦5 million for Kwara residents. Pilgrims are expected to pay the balance before October 8, 2025, to confirm their participation.

The Executive Secretary commended the governor for the gesture, noting that it would help ensure that every pilgrim from the state enjoys a comfortable and spiritually enriching experience in both Kwara and Saudi Arabia.
