Dele Momodu: PDP on Life Support, Hijacked by APC Agents

Veteran journalist and politician, Dele Momodu, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of being hijacked by agents of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the party as being on “life support.”

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, Momodu said he resigned from the PDP to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, citing what he described as a dead end in his former party.

“ADC is a coalition of different political parties, and I left the PDP because I saw we had reached a cul-de-sac,” Momodu said. “The PDP has been completely hijacked by APC agents who continue to operate within the party while working for the ruling party. It’s an anomaly, but it’s the reality.”

Momodu, who has a long history in Nigerian politics, added that his decision to leave the PDP was based on principle.

“I cannot, in good conscience, remain in PDP while working for another coalition. I have always followed my conscience in politics. I contested the presidency in 2011 under the National Conscience Party after leaving Labour, learning valuable lessons along the way,” he said.

He further warned that the PDP might not recover from the influence of APC agents. “Some people are desperate to keep PDP in ICU, not to revive it. They are using it as a cadaver room. It’s a shame,” Momodu added.
