Residents Kill Six Bandits, Rescue Kidnapped Relatives in Sokoto Community

 

 

Residents of Bimasa community in Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto State fought back against bandits who attacked the community, killing six of them and rescuing kidnapped individuals.

 

The chairman of Tureta Local Government, Aliyu Tureta, confirmed the attack, saying community members tracked the bandits into the forest and engaged them.

 

“They managed to free several relatives who had been kidnapped, as well as recover rustled cattle. The people also captured one of the bandits and brought him back to the community,” Tureta revealed.

 

He also called for strengthened security around the community to prevent any attempts at retaliation.

 

The Sokoto State Police Command has yet to comment officially on the incident.
