“Ife PDP United, Focused on Victory”—Adeleke’s Spokesperson

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ife Federal Constituency has declared full reconciliation, with party leaders pledging unity ahead of the 2026 elections.

Mallam Olawale Rasheed, spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke, said:

“The governor is pleased with the reconciliation and unity displayed by the leaders of Ife PDP. This is a clear message to any external agents seeking to create division our party remains resolute and focused on victory in 2026.”

The resolution followed a high-powered meeting convened by Governor Adeleke, attended by Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi, Deputy Senate Minority Leader Senator Lere Oyewumi, State PDP Chairman Hon Sunday Bisi, Secretary to the State Government Hon Teslim Igbalaye, Chief of Staff Hon Kazeem Akinleye, and other party stalwarts.

Governor Adeleke described the recent feud as a result of “communication gaps” and the influence of outside forces, urging leaders to forget past differences and focus on the party’s goals.

“Throughout this meeting today, I see Ile Ife PDP very truly united. There is also a strong sign of an outsider plot to divide Ife PDP,” he said. “Now that we have seen the roots of the matter, I charge us to get back to work. Ile Ife is a PDP territory. Go back and sustain the tempo.”

Hon Sunday Bisi described the incident as “a family affair” and directed that all statutory meetings for party mobilisation should reconvene. He urged members to frown at any act that could be misinterpreted as anti-party activity.

The meeting has set the stage for a stronger PDP presence in Ile Ife as the state prepares for the 2026 general elections.
