Ganduje Dismisses Defection Rumour, Reaffirms Loyalty to APC, Tinubu
Immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed as false reports suggesting that he is plotting to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Ganduje, who resigned his position as APC National Chairman on June 27, citing health concerns, described the reports as “fake news” aimed at creating disaffection.
The former Kano State governor assumed leadership of the ruling party on August 3, 2023, at an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee.
Speculations had surfaced that two months after his resignation, Ganduje and his political associates were considering dumping the APC for the ADC.
But speaking at the weekend, Ganduje’s media aide, Edwin Olofu, insisted that his principal remained a steadfast member of the APC and would not abandon President Bola Tinubu or his Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to Olofu:
“Ganduje is a committed member of the APC who is not just a loyal party man but also loyal to the President and his Renewed Hope Agenda. So, ignore those saying he is planning to leave the APC. It is just fake news.”
