Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Olofa of Ofatedo, Oba Abdullahi Okunoye Agunloye, in Egbedore Local Government Area.

In a statement, Governor Adeleke described the late monarch as a dedicated and visionary leader whose 44-year reign brought development, recognition, and transformation to Ofatedo. He said the monarch’s passing is a huge loss to the people and the traditional institution he served.

“I received the news of the passage of Olofa of Ofatedo, Oba Abdullahi Okunoye Agunloye, with sadness. Kabiyesi was a man of conviction, who used his stool to advance the progress of his people,” the governor said.

Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Spokesperson to the Governor, added: “While we join in mourning the loss of Oba Agunloye, we honour his life of service and commendable efforts at bringing sustainable changes. His legacy of impacting lives and transforming his community will be remembered forever.”

Governor Adeleke extended condolences to the royal family, the people of Ofatedo, and all affected by the late monarch’s passing.
