Wike’s Double Game: PDP’s Judas or APC’s Secret Weapon?

When betrayal wears designer agbada, Rivers becomes the stage, and PDP claps for its own funeral.

By Oluwatosin Babatunde

Once upon a time, Rivers State was PDP’s crown jewel. Today, it’s the crown jewel in APC’s showcase, gift-wrapped by none other than Nyesom Wike, the man who shouts “PDP for life!” with one hand while signing APC contracts with the other. If betrayal had a face, it would be sipping champagne in Abuja, wearing the FCT Minister’s badge.

The Rivers council polls didn’t just produce results they produced a comedy show. APC won 20 LGAs, including Governor Fubara’s backyard. PDP, once the landlord of Rivers politics, now looks like a tenant served quit notice. If this was a football match, Wike wore PDP’s jersey, dribbled past PDP defenders, and scored hat-tricks for APC then still demanded “Man of the Match” award.

Yes, people are crying “manipulation!” Of course, Nigerian elections without manipulation are like soup without pepper unthinkable. But even manipulation needs cracks to slip through. And who cracked PDP? The same Wike who now sings APC lullabies at night while pretending to wave the PDP flag by day.

PDP, as usual, is holding meetings about “discipline.” Meetings! At this rate, they will still be meeting while Wike delivers the entire South-South to APC in 2027. A party that cannot discipline one man should stop pretending it can discipline a nation. PDP is no longer an opposition; it is a support group for political betrayals anonymous.

Meanwhile, Nigerians are watching the circus. APC is clapping. PDP is weeping. And ADC? Well, ADC is sitting in the corner, shy like a teenager at a wedding, waiting for someone to ask it to dance. Let’s be honest: if PDP has collapsed into self-betrayal, ADC has no business acting coy. The mantle of opposition is lying on the floor, and ADC is busy adjusting its cap.

Here’s the joke: PDP is dead, APC is dancing on the grave, and Nigerians are still asking, “Who will save us?” ADC, stop whispering and start shouting. Stop warming the bench; the referee has blown the whistle. Nigerians are tired of betrayal disguised as leadership. If you don’t seize this moment, you’ll remain the political equivalent of a WhatsApp group nobody opens.

Rivers was just the dress rehearsal. 2027 is the main show. And if ADC won’t take the stage, then it should not complain when history forgets its name.

PDP is busy babysitting its Judas, APC is busy eating the national cake, and ADC is busy tying its shoelace. By the time 2027 comes, the race will be over.
