Aregbesola Launches ADC Mass Membership Drive in Lagos, Calls for APC’s Defeat in 2027

Aregbesola Launches ADC Mass Membership Drive in Lagos, Calls for APC’s Defeat in 2027

Former Minister of Interior and current National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has officially kicked off the party’s mass membership campaign in Kosofe Local Government Area, Lagos, urging Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Addressing the crowd at the well-attended event, Aregbesola criticised the APC, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party (LP), accusing them of failing to deliver good governance and sustainable development. He described the ADC as a “fresh alternative” capable of steering Nigeria toward real progress.

“Spread the message of the ADC to every Nigerian, especially within your communities. Let them know that our party offers a new horizon of hope and opportunity,” Aregbesola told supporters, promising incentives to boost mobilisation.

In a pointed challenge to President Bola Tinubu and Lagos APC leadership, the former Osun State governor urged members to intensify grassroots sensitisation, participate in the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continuous voter registration, and prepare to safeguard their votes in 2027.

The rally, which drew an impressive turnout despite starting late, featured speeches, campaign songs, and solidarity chants. Notable attendees included Lagos ADC Chairman George Ashiru, State Influencer Rahman Owokoniran, and Kosofe LGA Influencer Funmi Onita-Coker  all emphasising the urgency of mass mobilisation ahead of the polls.

Welcoming new members, Ashiru pledged “honest and transparent leadership” and assured equal opportunities for both newcomers and long-standing party members.

Lagos Reporters will continue monitoring political developments in the run-up to the 2027 elections.
