Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has convened an emergency security meeting following recent bandit attacks in parts of the state, aimed at strengthening the state’s security architecture and improving coordinated responses.

The meeting, held on Friday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, brought together security stakeholders to review emerging threats and develop strategies for more effective operations across affected areas.

Governor Idris expressed concern over the recent incidents and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ending insecurity in the state.

“My administration will not tolerate or spare anyone found to be an informant. Anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law, and justice will be served,” he said.

He assured residents that efforts were underway to ensure improved safety and restore public confidence in the security system.

The governor also commended security agencies for their ongoing efforts in maintaining relative peace in the state, noting that their operations have contributed significantly to stability in many communities.

“I urge all residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible information. People should not withhold information; they should share it promptly,” he added.

Idris further called for stronger collaboration between communities and security operatives, stressing that intelligence sharing remains critical in tackling banditry and other violent crimes in the state.
