Nollywood actor and House of Representatives aspirant, Emeka Ike, on Monday protested at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja over the outcome of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) federal constituency seat.

Ike, who recently declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives, alleged irregularities in the conduct of the primary election, which he lost.

The actor stormed the INEC office and expressed dissatisfaction with the electoral process, insisting that he would challenge what he described as unfair treatment.

Addressing officials during the protest, Ike questioned the transparency of the exercise and demanded accountability.

“We don’t have an address when the election is going on. I am an aspirant, I’m a Nigerian.

“You won’t go away with this. I don’t do social media activism. INEC will not escape this,” he said.

As of the time of filing this report, INEC had not issued an official response to Ike’s allegations, while the NDC had also not commented on the claims.

The actor’s protest comes amid ongoing political party primaries across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.
