The All Progressives Congress (APC) has revised its earlier list of senatorial aspirants barred from participating in the party’s Senate primaries, removing five names, including former Senator Ben Murray-Bruce.

The updated list, released on Monday and signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, came shortly after the initial version was published.

The revised document reduced the number of affected aspirants from 47 to 44, although the party did not explain the sudden deletions.

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) hereby releases an updated list of Senatorial aspirants not cleared to participate in the Party’s Senate Primary Elections,” Morka stated.

“The APC urges all stakeholders to uphold transparency, orderliness, and the integrity of the ongoing Primary Election process.”

Among those removed from the earlier disqualification list was former Bayelsa East Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, one of the most prominent names initially barred from the exercise.

Others dropped from the list include Chimzobam Kingsley Nnalue (Anambra North), Gyang Yaya Zi San (Plateau North), Napoleon Binkap Bah (Plateau South), and Usman Ephraim Gar (Plateau Central).

The updated document also introduced two fresh entries from Nasarawa West. Ibrahim Bala was listed as “not cleared,” while Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana was recorded as having voluntarily withdrawn.

In addition, the APC adjusted the status of some aspirants previously marked as “not cleared.”

Benson Agadaga (Bayelsa East) and Donald Daunemigita (Bayelsa West) were reclassified as having voluntarily withdrawn from the race.

Garba Musa Mai Doki (Kebbi South) was listed as having defected, while Adam Mouktar Mohammed (Jigawa South/West) was recorded as absent from the screening exercise.

The development comes amid ongoing controversies surrounding the APC primary elections across several states.
